SUMMARY:Permaculture Days in Berlin
DESCRIPTION:What’s Permaculture all about??\nSome think it’s just a kind of pretty natural gardening or a new-hippy trend…\nThe root of the concept “Permanent + Agriculture”\, has also evolved into “Permanent + Culture”.\nQuoting Bill Mollison\, one of the co-originators of the permaculture concept: “A human culture cannot survive long without the basis for sustainable agriculture and land ethics management”. \nPermaculture was developed as a holistic design system\, but it evolved into a worldwide movement in the meantime. It helps us to design regenerative systems that mimic natural ecosystems and address human needs. It’s connected with Deep Ecology\, Systems Thinking\, Regenerative Lifestyles\, Natural Building\, Food Production\, Renewable Energy\, Solidary Economy & Governance… All this and much more! \nThe training to become a permaculture designer shows you how to design regenerative systems that mimic natural ecosystems and address human needs\, but also how to see reality from a systemic perspective and recognize us humans as part of a large ecosystem. We hereby offer these interactive workshops to get closer to these topics\, which are becoming more and more important today\, and to help us co-create regenerative human cultures. \nWhat will you learn?\n– What is permaculture and how can it change your perspectives and goals\, how can you re-design a garden\, your job\, your own life\, your relationships and much more.\n– How can we use our senses more effectively to observe and interact with the more-than-human world.\n– Many creative ways to use permaculture.\n– What does it mean to have a systemic view of the world.\n– How to regenerate the soil\, optimize the use of water and other energy cycles and produce food more effectively.\n– How to recognize\, use and flow with the patterns of nature.\n– To interact and network with an amazing\, inclusive\, diverse and growing international community. \nThe facilitators\nJorge Barbosa is a permaculture designer\, educator and tutor based in Berlin\, but with international experience. He currently works with schools in Berlin developing school gardens\, offering design support and trainings to children\, young people and adults. He collaborates with several permaculture academies as a permaculture educator and tutor – PAB (UK)\, AcaPI (Spain + Portugal)\, AIP (Italy) – as well as with the international Transition Network. \nLinda Limbadega is a dedicated permaculturist from Ghana Permaculture Institute with hands-on experience in composting\, sustainable agriculture and community-based projects. She has facilitated workshops in both rural and institutional settings\, focusing on practical\, low-cost solutions for ecological and regenerative living. \nProgram\nDay 1\n1. Arrival\, presentations\, workshop presentation\n2. Learning outcomes + Group culture\n3. Basic root concepts\, Paradigm change\n4. Permaculture: definition and history\n5. Ethics + Principles\n6.The Permaculture Flower: the seven domains of permaculture action\n7. Permaculture applications: concrete examples\n8. Deep observation\, Patterns in Nature \n\nDay 2\n1. Review of previous day\n2. Ecosystems\, Energy and energy cycles\n3. Relative location\, Beneficial connections\, Inputs-Outputs\n4. Design process\n5. Zones and Sectors\n6. Edges and Microclimates\n7. Soil: composition and regeneration techniques\n8. Water: availability and management\n9. Urban & Social Permaculture\n10. Next steps: networks and possible learning pathways \n*This workshop will be held in English\, but we can provide translation to German.\nThis is an introductory training that can lead to a more deep learning pathway.\nThere are approx. 20 places \nJoin us on a journey of learning\, sharing\, practising and having fun!\n\nWhen: July 5+6\, 2025\nWhere: SONED e.V.\, Kreutzigerstr. 19\, Berlin – Friedrichshain \nParticipation fees\nWe want to be sure that everyone who wants to participate has the chance to do it\, so we offer a sliding scale and you can sort yourselves according to your possibilities…\n– Low or no income / Global South 60\,00 €\n– Medium income / Global South with high income 100\,00 € \n– High income / Global North 150\,00 €\n\nPlease register using this module:\nhttps://forms.gle/i4T2X4rR9o66ngbZ7\n\nIf by any reason you cannot pay the lower amount\, please contact us.\nEmail: jorge.permacultura@gmail.com or info@soned.de \nMeals\nConscious offer (5\,00€ – 10\,00€ – 15\,00€)\, it can be paid directly on site.\nWe can provide vegan or vegetarian meals\, but you can also bring your own food and provide for yourself if you prefer\, just let us know upfront on the registration phase.\n*Please share with us if you have any specific diet requests or allergies
